 The iPad got a snazzy prime-time promo and a release date last week, but it might want to watch its back cause the competition is on its heels. One of those challengers, the HP Slate, just got a promo of its own from HP and Adobe, and the message - that it is a stronger option for slate- tablet computing than Apple's device - is clear. In other news, a source at T-Mobile shared with us some big news regarding the HTC HD2 dream phone. Be warned, not all of it is good news. And on the reviews front, we've got a full run-through on the Motorola BackFlip, AT&T's first Android device. Check it all out here!

There's been some discrepancy on the HTC HD2's release date, but today a T-Mobile source confirmed with us that the party indeed starts on March 24. In their generosity, the source also told us the phone will retail for $199.
